User Guide – Feeding

The Feeding section allows you to record and track all feed, supplements, and forages assigned to each animal, either manually or through predefined protocols. With this information, IdeasFarm automatically calculates costs, cumulative consumption, and its productive impact.

1. Overview

The General tab displays the animal's daily feeding records:

Field Description
Date The day the feed was given.
Age Animal's age at the time of the record.
Feed Name Feed used (concentrate, pasture, supplement, etc.).
Quantity Amount provided, expressed in the defined unit (kg, L, etc.).
Assigned by Indicates whether the quantity was assigned per head or per group.
Total Cost ($) Monetary value automatically calculated from the Supplies module cost.
Observations Space to add additional comments.

Note: All feeds must be previously registered in the Supplies module. If a feed does not exist, you can create a New Product or increase Stock from the same interface.

2. Register New Feeding

Clicking ➕ New Feeding opens the form:

Upon saving, the system automatically deducts the feed from the Supplies inventory and reflects the cost in the Costs section.

3. Feeding Protocols and Grazing

The Protocols and Grazing tab records assignments defined by group or lot:

Field Description
Start and End Date Period during which the protocol applies.
Feed Feed used.
Daily Allocation Amount assigned per day.
Cumulative Allocation Total provided during the period.
Total Cost Monetary value automatically calculated.

👉 Note: This allows organizing consistent rations for animal groups without manually recording each day.

4. Daily Protocols

The Daily Protocols tab shows the day-by-day details of feed delivered according to established protocols:

🔎 Includes filters by date range to query specific periods.

5. Weaning

The Wean Animal button opens the form to record the weaning date.
This marks when the animal stops receiving milk-dependent feeding, automatically adjusting its requirements in the system.
