Guide – Grazing Calendar in IdeasFarm
The Grazing Calendar is a visual tool that organizes the entry and exit of pastures throughout the year. It helps plan and track grazing cycles for each area, ensuring efficient and orderly rotation.
Overview
The calendar is divided into 12 months (January to December) and shows the scheduled grazing events for each pasture.
- Each colored bar represents a grazing cycle for the pasture.
- The colors differentiate the batches or pastures (e.g., blue, green, orange).
- Within each bar, the name of the pasture is shown.
Main Features
- Quick occupancy view:
- Identifies which pastures are in use and during which period.
- Shows the exact duration of each grazing cycle.
- Rotation planning:
- Helps organize the use of pastures throughout the year.
- Helps maintain appropriate forage rest and recovery periods.
- Pasture management:
- Each event is linked to the corresponding pasture.
- You can check the assigned animal group, entry date, and exit date in detail.
- Overgrazing prevention:
- With the full-year view, the producer can anticipate when a pasture will become available and avoid using it prematurely.
Practical Benefits
- Have an annual map of pasture rotation.
- Facilitate animal load planning based on forage availability.
- Optimize pasture recovery, respecting rest periods.
- Anticipate supplementation needs when the calendar shows periods of higher grazing pressure.
The Grazing Calendar becomes a visual agenda of the farm, where you can see at a glance how the use of pastures is organized month by month, ensuring more strategic forage management.
