User Guide – Pasture Mechanization
The Mechanization module in IdeasFarm allows recording all activities performed with agricultural machinery within a pasture, linking costs, usage time, and possible operational restrictions. This helps maintain complete control of mechanical work, whether performed in-house or contracted.
Mechanization Records Screen
The main table shows all mechanization records associated with the selected pasture. Available fields are:
| Field |
Description |
| Date |
Day the mechanization activity was performed. |
| Task |
Type of activity performed (soil preparation, mechanical cutting, leveling, etc.). |
| Task Duration |
Total duration of the activity performed with machinery. |
| Mechanization Cost |
Value associated with machinery use (can be internal or external). |
| Service Type |
Indicates if the task was performed with in-house machinery or contracted external services. |
| Observation |
Free space for additional comments or task details. |
New Record Form
Clicking “New” opens a form to register a mechanization activity. The fields are:
-
Date
Record the day the mechanization task was performed.
-
Task Performed
Select or write the type of task performed.
Examples: Soil preparation, mechanical cutting, leveling, compaction, etc.
-
External Services
- Yes: If the task was contracted to a third party.
- No: If performed with in-house machinery.
If the service is external, the service cost must be entered.
-
Usage Restriction
Indicates if the task implies subsequent restrictions on pasture use (e.g., waiting time before grazing or sowing again).
-
Observation
Free field to record any additional notes about the task.
Important Notes and Practical Tips
- If using in-house machinery, it is recommended to enter task duration and associated costs to maintain a more accurate calculation of operational cost per hectare.
- For external services, IdeasFarm automatically records the cost in the pasture’s expense history and reflects it in total farm cost reports.
- The usage restriction option is key to planning pasture rotations and avoiding misuse of grass after heavy tasks like soil preparation or mechanized fertilization.
- All information recorded here integrates with the Pasture Costs module, ensuring a more complete profitability analysis.
