Guide – Land Use in IdeasFarm
The Land Use screen provides an overall summary of how the farm's area is distributed and utilized. It is a strategic view that combines pastures and pens to understand operational capacity and land planning.
Main Indicators (Top)
At the top, three key indicators are displayed:
- Effective area (Ha): the area actually available for production, relative to the total farm area.
- Total pastures: number of registered pastures and their total area.
- Total pens: number of registered pens and their total area.
This data allows the producer to immediately visualize the proportion of land used for grazing versus confinement.
Detail Table
The table below lists each area of the farm with its characteristics:
- Code: unique identifier for the area.
- Name: name of the pasture or pen.
- Area (Ha): size in hectares.
- Type: main use (Grazing, Sowing, Rest, Pen, Feedlot, etc.).
- Status: current condition (e.g., Grazing, Rest, Sowing, Active, Inactive).
This view combines pastures and pens in one place, making it easier to manage all the available land.
Functionalities
- Consolidated view: all information about pastures and pens is presented in a single table.
- Quick search: the search function allows filtering areas by name, type, or status.
- Area comparison: helps visualize the proportion of land used for grazing, sowing, or assigned to pens.
- Efficiency analysis: along with the top indicators, helps assess what percentage of the land actually produces forage.
Practical Benefits
- Allows keeping an up-to-date inventory of land use.
- Facilitates strategic decision-making on pasture expansion, increasing pens, or changes in management.
- Improves production planning, ensuring a balance between forage production areas and support areas (pens, quarantine, maternity, etc.).
In summary, the Land Use screen is the dashboard where the distribution of the farm's land and the status of each area are shown, allowing the producer to better manage their physical resources.
