In IdeasFarm, the weighing protocol allows you to define how often a specific group of animals (e.g., heifer calves, dry cows, cows in production, etc.) will be weighed.

This helps maintain constant growth control, detect development problems, and evaluate feed efficiency.

Route:

Protocols → Edit protocols → Weighing → Select group (e.g., Heifer Calves).

Each group is configured independently, allowing different frequencies depending on the production stage.

2️⃣ Main fields

Frequency

Define the time unit between one weighing and the next:

• Daily → scheduling is counted in days.
• Weekly → counted in weeks.
• Monthly → counted in months.
• Yearly → counted in years.

Every

Specifies the exact repetition interval within the selected frequency.

Examples:

• Monthly frequency + Every 1 = every 1 month.
• Monthly frequency + Every 3 = every 3 months (quarterly).
• Weekly frequency + Every 2 = every 2 weeks (biweekly).

Calendar (only monthly/yearly)

Allows selecting specific days of the month when weighing will be performed.

This is useful if you want weighing always on a fixed date (e.g., day 15 of each month).

Ends

Determines when the scheduling ends:

• Never → protocol repeats indefinitely.
• On a specific date → indicates an exact end date.
• After X repetitions → ends after a set number of weighings.

• Frequency: Monthly
• Every: 2
• Day of the month: 10
• Ends: Never
